Eslabon Armado

Eslabon Armado is an American regional Mexican group from Patterson, California, formed in 2017 by brothers Pedro and Brian Tovar. Pedro sings lead and plays twelve-string guitar and Brian plays bass; the rest of the lineup has turned over around them, with Damian Pacheco joining on twelve-string guitar in 2022 and Ulises Gonzalez playing acoustic guitar from 2021 until his departure in 2025. The brothers came to sierreno music, a stripped-down style from northwestern Mexico built on requinto guitar and six-string bass, through their father. Their slow, melancholy songs about heartbreak helped popularize the strains that press and streaming services came to label sad sierreno and corridos tumbados. Signed to DEL Records, the group released the EP Navegando y Flotando in 2019 and broke through with the album Tu Veneno Mortal in April 2020, which topped Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart. Vibras de Noche followed later that year, then Corta Venas, Tu Veneno Mortal Vol. 2 in 2021, Nostalgia in 2022, Desvelado in 2023, Amor Perdido in 2024 and Vibras de Noche 2 in 2025. Nostalgia reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200, the first regional Mexican album to enter that chart's top ten. The band's best-known recording is Ella Baila Sola, a 2023 single with Peso Pluma that reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs and was nominated for song of the year at the Latin Grammy Awards. Other collaborations include Jugaste y Sufri with DannyLux, La Fresa with Gabito Ballesteros, and La Durango with Peso Pluma and Junior H. The group performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October 2023 and has won Billboard Music Awards for top Latin duo or group as well as multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards. It tours theaters and ballrooms across the United States, playing rooms such as the Tabernacle in Atlanta, the Fillmore in San Francisco and The Underground in Charlotte.
