Jorge Drexler is a world-renowned Uruguayan singer-songwriter, composer, and poet born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and based in Spain. Celebrated for pioneering music that seamlessly blends traditional South American rhythms—such as candombe, milonga, and murga—with modern pop, folk, and electronics, Drexler made history in 2005 as the first artist to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song with a Spanish-language track ('Al otro lado del río' from The Motorcycle Diaries). A winner of multiple Latin Grammy Awards (including Record and Song of the Year for Tinta y Tiempo), he tours internationally, performing at premier halls including The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater.
