The Matches

The Matches is an American pop punk, alternative rock, and art-punk band formed in Oakland, California in 1997 by lead vocalist/guitarist Shawn Harris, guitarist Jonathan Devoto, bassist Justin San Souci, and drummer Matt Whalen. Known for inventive, genre-bending songwriting and hyperkinetic live performances, the band released landmark albums on Epitaph Records including E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals (2004) and Decomposer (2006), headlining iconic venues nationwide including The Fillmore in San Francisco.
